About Us

I am Shelly Roberts and I breed Toy and Miniature Schnauzers on the high desert of western Colorado!  My family and I started High Desert Schnauzers to share our love of the breed with others who are searching for the ideal breed of dog.  We are different than other Schnauzer breeders, because our puppies are raised in a natural and rural Colorado environment, where they receive individual care, loving attention, indoor lodging, and a whole lot of fresh high desert air!

It is no surprise that the American Kennel Club ranks Miniature Schnauzers at #19 out of 196 for AKC breed popularity.  Miniature Schnauzers are friendly, lively, eager to please, and are highly intelligent – not to mention they shed very little.  These puppies are ranked #1 in our book!
